Radeon VII (and new AMD gpus) compatibility

other 1000 euro ... thank you ...
you don't need both Vega 56/64 and Radeon VII. You have 9900K, so you can use iGPU + Radeon VII, just use an iMac SMBIOS, not an iMac Pro one. (in addition to configuring everything else correctly and waiting for the drivers to be release instead of beta.

this is single way ... waiting ...:)

Hello, the Vega 56/64 only work for h264/h265 encode decode with the iMac Pro SMBIOS, I tested with my X299 computer and yes you have complete asceleration for this two with the Vega 64 out of the box (without making any modification), I tested with my Core i9 9700K with the normal iMac SMBIOS and with my Vega 64 and there is no hardware asceleration for h264/h265, because the imac uses quicksync I guess...

But I had a lot of problems setting the iMac Pro Smbios in my computer with socket 1151 9th gen, that SMBIOS is working perfect with my X299 build... that is something you have to keep in mind...

what kind of problems you have been using with iMac Pro smbios with socket 1151 9th generation ?...if you can detail a little ... with vega I used smbios iMac Pro without a problem ... with radeon 7 does not work any smbios or configuration as i expect. iGPU enable or disable is it same ... miserable results ... I'm waiting for beta 2 or next ...

for me radeon 7 + vega 56/64 isnt an option ... already everything becomes too expensive and no longer justifies

Probably sharing your config would be more useful for the others to identify your problem ?

My hack, z170 / Radeon VII / iGPU, is working stable with 10.14.5 beta 1. The benchmark results are not so great as expected, but I can say its acceleration is enabled, otherwise I could not get that performance. Bruce X test was around 15 seconds which was almost same as the result with my another hack with Vega 56.

I followed this [guide](https://github.com/corpnewt/Hackintosh-Guide/tree/master/config.plist-per-hardware) exactly with a proper USB DSDT.aml.

Only issue I have currently is that it fails to wake up from sleep if two monitors are connected. It seems to work ok if one monitor was switched off when waking up it.

Thank you so much for posting this!
I want to dump my gtx1080 in my skylake build and get Radeon Vii and you’ve shown it’s working! Hopefully the performace improves through the beta process!

@xantrium I am on the verge og buying a VII - waiting for mature drivers/native support - but you shared your EFI on page 21, can you share your bios in regards to iGPU? Right now i’m running with iMac Pro Smbios + iGPU turned off as I couldn’t get it to cooperate with the vega 56 in FCPX where it would prioritize the iGPU to the Vega when rendering.
It’s my stepping stone to VII - as I want the 8700k iGPU to help with quicksync/export.

Cheers
