Not sure if this adds anything new or helps desktop applications but they seem to have a whitelisting script that allows an external Radeon VII to run properly on thunderbolt.

Script:

Might be useful if tomorrow’s release is a bust.

Another update: I tried forcing the Kamarang and Iriri framebuffers for the RVII, no dice, no display, no signal. Not even a black screen (once the GPU drivers load of course).

I then turned my iGPU's ig-platform-id from connectorless to connectorful, and no freezes so far.

The Radeon 7 actually has metal in Mojave, Nvidia only has Kepler support. That is a big difference between Maxwell, Pascal, RTX cards.

We went through this with the RX 480 but we had to add the ID to 2 Kexts. Radeon 7 only needs one edit. The W7100, W9100 are not part of Apple hardware builds but they have support. Apple uses AMD drivers for many cards that use EGPU boxes. There is no reason to believe they will exclude it. AMD rushed the card out and the Windows drivers get updates every other week. Apple and AMD probably wants good drivers before they add the ID.
Since we are in 10.14 beta 6 the 14.4 beta is a short distance away. It could pop next week!

I think I will pull the plug and get a Radeon VII now, due to the imminent 10.14.4 and the advantages.

will try this too. Is it ok until now? mine is freezing in final cut pro x. hope if works :)

Question. I can get Final Cut Pro 2 work nor render. it freezes instantly upon loading the BruceX5k file.
my UHD 630 is missing on the Graphics/Displays tab and reporting 0MB on Hackintool.. its present at the istatmenus but I think the reason Final Cut is not working is because I'm having problems on my UHD 630?

Thank you :)
