Whoa, why is your cinebench OpenCL score so low with a RX 590? I have the same exact CPU, running a RX 560 and I'm getting 120.94.
My cinebench OpenCL score is 118fps at the card running 8x. the cinebench OpenCL score is 130 when the card is running 16x. For me the trade off is worth it as I need all the pcie slots I can get.

1x-Broadcom wifi and bluetooth card
16x- RX 590 (which blocks two 1x slots
8x- ATTO H680 SAS card
1x- USB 3 card
4x- Blackmagic Intensity Pro

Hmm.. My RX 560 is also showing using only 8x lanes.. What MB do you have?

I think the 460/560 series only use 8 lanes 128gbs vs 256 for RX 470-580.

Unfortunately it looks like this is the only brand currently available in South Africa.

I'm not in a real hurry, so will there be a fix in the next month or so, or is it an absolute no-go?

Is there a way to change the bios using DSDT?

The hackintosh has been plugging away for 27 hours now encoding mpeg2 and h.265 streams. Super happy with switching to AMD and enabling quick sync. Now I gotta sell the GTX 970 now since it's collecting dust

I have 2 kexts one for converting RX 480 to RX 590 and one for RX 580 to RX 590.

Hey. What's you actually changed? I mean if WEG updates again, which changed should I apply to see rx 590 instead of rx 480.

I used iHex to change the WEG code for RX 480, and 580. A WEG update may include the new 590, if you ask Vit the developer for it. It would be a good idea because it runs at different clock speeds.

Well, I didn't find any way to contact with him. No email on github account, no issue section in repo. :/

Here is how I did it. First download a fresh copy of WEG and place on your desktop. Open iHex and stretch the window, then right click on WEG kext and select "Show Package Contents". Open the macOS folder and drag the WEG driver into iHex. Go to Edit tab and select find, and find see pic.

Now type in RX 480 or 580 in the top window as shown and hit the "Next" tab. It should flash yellow for a second. Then type in RX 590 in the lower windows as shown and hit the "replace" tab. Then go to top tool bar and hit save. Now its ready for testing. I did this with RX 480 and 580 on 2 separate versions but it may work by changing both definitions on the same copy.

I am in trouble with gpu memory leak. I literally do not perform any heavy gpu tasks. Only running nodejs scripts, docker stuff.

Any idea?
