Hey Shuhung, do you think this update will solve the DumpGPURestart freezes on the RX580?

Just bought a RX580 to upgrade my Haswell (4770k on 14,2) rig to Mojave and am getting the annoying freezes. Was looking at changing SMbios to iPad Pro and use the dummy kext etc but if the new version of Mojave fixes it, I'll download the beta and install.

If you have any ideas on how to solve the freezes (I don't do any video work so HEVC is secondary) that would be great. Thanks.

iMacPro may be a bit easier to install though.

EDIT: Installed the latest 10.4.6 beta, changed smbios to iMacPro1,1 but still getting the dreaded dumpGPURestart. Will try the swapid.kext and see what happens.

EDIT2: Can't boot with swapid. At a loss, any ideas on how to fix this I would be eternally grateful.

Yes sir. Tried IGPU on/off with 14,2 18,3 1,1 with 10.14.5, 10.14.6 Beta(s), 10.15.0 Beta. Weg on/off. Couldn't get SwapID to work.

The RX580 is an ex-mining card. Flashed various different vbios. I wonder if it's a hardware issue.

Making a 10.13.6 install media now.

At the moment I have SMBIOS iMac 19,2 because of the cpu model, but DRM on iTunes and Netflix is not working. I use Lilu + Whatevergreen. The IGPU is configured in headless mode. How can I get DRM working with iMac 19,2 system definition. At the moment I'm on the latest Mac OS Version 10.4.5

You could try this, it worked for me with iMac 14,2:

defaults write com.apple.AppleGVA gvaForceAMDAVCEncode -boolean yes
defaults write com.apple.AppleGVA gvaForceAMDKE -boolean yes

So i updated to 10.14.6 using VideoProc 3.3
Still not seeing the AMD notification light up when transcoding. iMacPro smbios with iGPU off.
Also tried with MacMini and iMac smbios with iGPU on. Not a whole lot of difference between them to be honest.

Hopefully newer VideoProc will fix this.

And AMD support is only in Windows....

Seems to be incorrect, FFMPEG API support VideoToolbox.
AMD GVA H264/HEVC encoder/decoder are supported via VideoToolbox not AMD AMF, H264 is native, HEVC use plugin method.

On latest macOS, AppleGVAHEVCEncoder only support SMBIOS iMacPro1,1, on others SMBIOSs are disabled.
