Looks like Apple finally figured out how to take advantage of AMD GPU multimedia encoding and decoding features.

This version work not equal to next version will also work, backup this version first, due to AMD GVA support still not official for RX4XX/5XX.

thanks, already saved /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/AppleGVA.framework to Dropbox :)

No, I don't enable IQSV, for HEVC transcoding RX460/RX570 are much better, no reason to enable IGPU for me.
So, what's the current solution (with 10.14.3) to enable HEVC AND H.264 encode in FCPX ?
Specific model ID, framework hack ?, dummy kext ? WEG ?

After 647 post, I seem to have lost track :)

You need 10.14.4 for stable encode and decode of RX 5xx/4xx GPU. see post #635 #637.

Mojave 10.14.3 not work, only for 10.14.4 (18E174f), still need dummy141 kext to enable AMD GVA support, SMBIOS with hwe420 support (recently only iMacPro1,1 support hwe420), with or without WEG no relevant .

Someone with Xeon and RX580 have smbios iMacPro1.1? Could share EFI folder?

You could use a iMacPro1,1 SMBIOS OR a better way you could keep your current SMBIOS but just use “shikigva=32 shiki-id=iMacPro1,1’s board-id” boot args to tell AppleGVA that your mac is a iMacPro1,1. See post #635. I have E3-1230 v2, RX560 and i use Macpro6,1 with above boot args.

My problem is I have changed smbios to iMacPro1.1 and opencl geekbench score about 138.000, but with smbios MacPro6.1 use “shikigva=32 shiki-id=7BA5B2D9E42DDD94” only 98.000 points.

See #631

Now with smbios iMacPro1.1 boot macOS but not works keyboard and mouse, but clock and istat show progress and run. I think crash something graphics because the last app that I have used was BruceX with Final Cut Pro X. Only works my clover with smbios MacPro6.1, with others smbios boot perfectly but not works keyboard and mouse.

upgrade to 10.14.4 beta1, it is very stable for hardware decoding and encoding.

update:

with dummykext141, macOS 10.14.4, using imacpro1,1 board-id, encoding and decoding worked great on RX 560, but i got very high fan speed after watching videos for a while, and the fan makes quit a lot of noise. this never happened before. I'll try to disable dummykext141 to see what is the real cause of this problem.
