Radeon RX 4XX/5XX standalone system, AMDRadeonX4250.kext (GVA support H264) does not support HEVC HW

Maybe because UHD 630 has better suport in Mojave,Mac mini 8,1, iMac 19,2,iMac 19,2 has the UHD 630. For the test we need someone else with UHD 630.

UHD 630 may not much better than HD630, more CPU C/T will get higher openCL / metal performance, therefore bottle neck for me is CPU, only 2 cores 4 threads, not good for video editing.

First open Clover Configurator and select Inject Intel, ig-platform-id 3E920003 or 3E910003, then you enable IGPU multi monitor in bios.,IGPU 64 or 128 MB, PEG as primary.

Google a HEVC video demo and download.
Open the file in FCPX and select export H264 4k, then you take the exported 4k h264 file open in FCPX and export in HEVC 4k 8 bit.

AppleVpa (Preview) is working fine in 10.14.5 beta 2 with only DGPU enbled, there's no need for IGPU or novpajpeg.kext .

Nope, configuration did not change. No automatic hardware detection. Hardware has to match AppleGVA/VPA configuration for specific SMBIOS. Example, using iMac18,3 without IGPU still causes non working preview and quick look.

I just tested on iMac 19,2 and its working fine. Will test on iMac 18,3 too.
Can you prove with pictures that preview is not working for you in 10.14.5 beta 2?

Back with pictures. Preview and quick look works perfectly fine on Mojave 10.4.4 using SMBIOS iMac 18,3 with only DGPU enabled.
I'll give you an advice to use the new iMacs Smbios 19,1 or 19,2 to match your coffee lake build.

QuickLook work but Preview not work with jpg format, still need novpajpeg.kext.

Didn’t test jpgs, only default print screen png. Will try jpeg.
