I've got an iMac mid 2009. GPU has burnt [unreadable screen at boot] (Radeon 4850)
So I changed the GPU by the one found in the iMac 2010 (Radeon HD 5750), identical in form factor.
It seemed fixed since the display is now perfect and I ran El Capitan installater without any issue.
The problem happens when re-booting after installation, at some point I assume the graphical driver is loaded and then the screen freezes while I can hear the boot going on in the background. Network access is working with ssh.
What could cause this problem, doesn't it look like a hackintosh driver issue ?
In recovery mode, from the terminal I copied the El Capitan HD 5750 drivers I found for hackintosh in /System/Library/Extension but it did not solve the problem.
Would you suggest multibeast post install ?
Any insight would appreciated,
Thank you
