Isn't that very low for 7970? Anyway I think Luxmark is not reliable on its scores, for example my single 7970 score is 13323 and my 7950 was almost 11897.. But on 2x 7970 score is 22700 and 2x 7950 is almost 24K, weird but true.

No idea what the norms are - Seems like it's all in the range and maybe specific cards/clocks are the issue.

All I know is that FCPX is butter smooth and reliable for me in a way that my 980ti never was, especially in rendering on the fly previews w/ plugins.

Of course 7970/50 are the heart of the fast Hackintosh and any Nvidia card would be not good idea for now, its about months when I first saw this Fl0r!an post then I bought a cheap 7950 on eBay and I was really shocked with its performance against my 980ti and 970.
Actually from the beginning I didn't liked that buggy Nvidia web driver and now my main Hackintosh is blessed with two 7970 cards.

Will we have as good support with the upcoming Vega cards? One can hope

Man...who knows, right?
I hope ultimately the newer cards definitely become as native as things like the 7970/280x, no question.

With Apple though - Hard to know..
