X58? As in the Intel chipset?

It has no issues with Sierra. For example, the Mac Pro 5,1, which uses Intel Westmere CPUs (and the X58 chipset), is compatible with macOS Sierra.

The only issue you may run into is that ATI/AMD GPUs boot to black screen in Sierra. So they require a "helper card" or integrated graphics to boot into macOS, and then switch over to your ATI/AMD GPU. Crossing my fingers that somehow this black screen issues gets resolved.

about X58 Wow! thanks! now I think it is worth waiting for a bit and hope rx 460 will run natively into macOS.

I have problem on 10.12.xx with radeon hd 6780 with wake up/sleep/stop. there is a way without igfx?

Hi, again, smart guys.

I have a sierra + hd6850, no ati injection, no fake id, and it worked perfectly untill i accidentelly updated with last sierra update (27 mar 2017). Now my screen is blinking (randomly changing colors to be precise), it happens when something changing in the screen (cursor movement, any animation e.t.c). i played with clover options (try to inject ati with fake id 0x67391002, fix display option, different framebuffer names) but nothing helped (when i use ati injection i get black screen during boot, so its even worse).

Is anyone facing the same problem(blinking) after last update? Any thoughts on what can be the problem?

Thanks, guys.

PS i have a little video illustrating the problem, but its in zip archive, because forum doesnt support mov format
