Hi, I'm looking for a video card in a budgetary category to work with Mojave (and then also with Catalina). I have now pretty old GTX 260 and it's doesn't work with Mojave and pretty noisy after I had to replace its fan for non-original one. So I'm searching for one which would be at least not worse than my GTX 260. Maybe something like GTX 590 for sound level, but I don't know if it will work with Mojave.

Thanks.

Think outside the box. The typical GPU fan is thin and noisy. In an ITX box, I like to take a 560 and remove the fans. Then I position a quiet case fan blowing on it at full speed (92mm. 120mm, or 140mm) usually a Noctua fan. In an ATX motherboard, I would sacrifice a PCIe card, scrape off all the contact fingers and cut a hole in it for the fan. Silence isn't free

I can't hear my RX 560 even when I'm playing games. When idle, the fans don't spin.

You can find these really cheap used. I think I paid $70 or $80 for mine from Ebay.

Concur with pastrychef, RX 560 is almost dead silent. I got mine used too (but now use an MSI Radeon RX 580).

Is there anything similar but cheaper than RX 560? GT 710 seems very weak even for YouTube. Thanks.

Youtube videos are encoded using VP9 codec, even you have RX580 / Vega GPU, it still cannot hardware decode VP9 video.

I have a GT 710 on my Hackintosh DAW and it is fine... but I only use it as a basic GPU. RX560 is much better but it's not a powerhouse neither.

I got a dell Rx 560d from eBay for about $60. Works with Mojave out the box.
