Hi,

Just a quick question:

Is it possible to get the functionality of having a headphone jack that will change the audio according to an Apple earbud's built-in volume control and microphone? This is what it says on a genuine MBA5,2 in Audio:

.....
"External Microphone / iPhone Headset"
.....

Basically the earbuds. I'm wondering if there's a way to add this functionality into our HackBooks, or is it only Apple-specific?

Cheers!

I would assume it is only Apple-specific. Because if you see on the Apple Earbud's they have 3 rings on the connection, the third one is for microphone compatibility, where if you look on standard earphones they only have 2.
With my laptop I have two ports, one for headphones, the other for microphone. So for me it will not work. Yours is probably quite similar.
