I have recently made a new install of mojave, all good except quick look and preview are not working. I have read that this could be caused by my product model being set right with regards to my GPU, it's current set as iMac18.1.
Any suggestions as to how to get this to work?

Hi there.

This is a well-known problem.

If you do a Site Search you will find many examples of how to work around it.

It is caused by hardware rendering of JPG usually.

Yes, system-definition can be an issue, so can not enabling the iGPU. However some CPUs don't have an iGPU.

There are several workarounds - a kext, a Whatevergreen boot command, enabling an iGPU (if there)... etc

@paolo,

You need to enable your IGPU and configure it with a "Headless" Platform-ID.

If your using OpenCore see the "Device Properties" section of the OC install guide.

Cheers
Jay

I tried the enabling IGPU route, but it switched off the output from my RX card. Decided to use an alternative app in the end, Zee. Works much better than preview IMO.

Finally fixed this by adding NoVPAJpeg.kext.
