Hey guys,

I've just got back from the Apple store with a new MB Pro 13". I have just got rid of my old MB which originally came with SL discs. It got me wondering, within the purchased tab of the app store it has the apps that came with the MB; garageband and imovie. Which I can install when I like but what about ML. There is no option for that. Is there an ESD I can restore to USB anywhere within the MB. I don't really have the time right now to check through it all. So if anybody knows then please let me know :).

Thanks.

There is a way to redownload ML even though you see no choice to do so.

  1. Open System Preferences on the Mac you want to update, then go to the Users & Groups section.
  2. Press the + button to add a new user, and create an administrator account. (Don't worry, you can delete it later.)
  3. Switch users and sign into this new account.
  4. Open the Mac App Store and sign in with the Apple ID you used to purchase Mountain Lion.
  5. Download Mountain Lion and you can transfer to USB drive.
  6. Delete the new user account.
  7. You should now have the Mountian Lion APP on the USB which you can do what ever with.

Here as well

Or

launch the Mac App Store app and Option+click the Purchases tab in the toolbar; that should show the Download button next to Mountain Lion in the Purchases list. If that doesn’t work, Option+click Mountain Lion in the list and then Option+click the Installed button on the Mountain Lion page. One of these two methods should let you download the installer.
