Hi folks, so I'm getting the prohibited sign when I try to boot up from either the locad HDD or the USB installation disk.
I've seen that this error has technically been addressed, but I need a more detailed explanation on what to do step by step, since I don't have a natural knack for these things. First let me start with what verbose mode tells me...
Now with that said, I can tell you a few things as to how I ended up in this predicament. I had a working Mountain Lion for a few years. I also have Windows 7 on another drive and when I installed El Capitan, everything went smoothly with the exception of one thing. There was NO SOUND.
So I followed waltvonfrankenstein's guide and downloaded the CloverALC110 script and the EFI Mounter V2 and ran the scripts after mounting the EFI.
When I restarted to see if I had a functioning sound card this is what occurred. I've lost any ability to even start a fresh install ever since. There is no way around Clover to boot in through safe mode or disabling anything. Please help!
My specs:
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760
Intel i7-3770k
Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UP5-TH
