@Atrumoram, please update your profile (personal details) with your Motherboard, CPU and Graphics Card.
If you have a prebuilt computer enter make and model instead of motherboard (Mobo).
The Rules said:
Profiles need to contain at least your primary system to assist others with helping you.

Boot your system in Verbose Mode and post a picture of your screen when it freezes/hangs.
At Clover Boot Screen press space bar and select Verbose (-v)

  • "old ide 44 pin hard disk" NOT supported in OS X or macOS versions.
  • Current Vebose boot Error is from Graphics failure.

I don't think it is going to work. But if you insist on performing an experiment and need my help, then please provide Screen shots of:

  • Your BIOS options.
    • Boot Option Priorities
    • SATA Controller options including AHCI
    • Graphics options
    • USB controller options
  • CLOVER folder from the USB installer as a compressed file.
  • the Image of the SATA-IDE converter cable or a link to the Internet Webpage where I can find details.
  • The exact way you have connected your Monitor to the PCIE Graphics card.

Thank you Atrumoram for the images you have posted.
I have a better idea of your hardware especially the IDE to SATA adapter to your IDE HDD.
Thank you for clarifying that you are booting in legacy mode.
I want you to upload your CLOVER folder as a compressed file.
To get CLOVER:
  • From Dock click Finder>Top menu bar "Finder>Preferences [√] Hard disks [√] External Disks [See image] this will place icons of connected disks on the desktop screen on the Right side for easy access.
  • You have to 'mount' the hidden "EFI partition" of the "High Sierra USB Installer flash disk" in the Mac you have created the USB installer [using the macOS High Sierra Installer downloaded from App Store.]
  • You can use Clover Configurator Vibrant DOWNLOAD to mount the EFI partition (White icon) on the desktop
  • Then you click through EFI>EFI>CLOVER and Right-click >Compress CLOVER and then upload.
  • I will check its folders and files and upload images with annotation to see if I can help you in this endeavor.

Thanks for helping me out :) hopefully I've done everything in the right way.

  • I have edited your CLOVER and uploading 3 CCV images.
  • Please open your CLOVER and edit as shown in the images .
  • Save the edited config.plist by clicking on the 2nd Arrow at the bottom of "TOOLS" bar on the left Panel of CCV window .
  • Boot the USB installer after the CLOVER editing and check for any Verbose boot error as before.
GOOD LUCK
