HI,
I am under High Sierra 10.13.2 with Z77x Gigabyte mobo (It is working well. No problem so far).
I connected a USB-c card (dodocool which is supposed to use ASM1142).
I connected an SSD on, before booting. The SSD is seen by the BIOS and is working correctly in Windows and OsX
When I check in OsX configuration, there is no USB3.1 in USB section. The disk is not also in SATA list. The volume is seen in "Storage" as USB disk.
If I disconnect the disk and reconnect (OsX), it is not seen again (hot plug works in windows).

Does someone understand what is wrong and what to do?

I have a similar problem with a StarTech card that uses the ASM1142. It works on Sierra but not on High Sierra. I can connect to USB drives but there is no info in "About This Mac". Did you have any success making yours work? Similar cards are on the buyer's guide, so surely others have this issue?
