Problem when IGPU is activated

Hi again !
Seems I'm a lost cause ;)
Or is my topic way under other matters of importance (I know, started it a looong time ago ;))

Can I hope for insight ? I know you're busy helping a whole lot of people, but if the big specialists @pastrychef and @jaymonkey drop an eye around here ... ;) and @itwas, I was trying your suggestions but as I didn't hear you back, if you also happens to come around here ... :D

Thanks a lot, sorry to bother you guys !

you should attach your test results, otherwise I don't know how to give you advice.

just post the config.plist is not useful for diagnostic

I was talking about this stuff from the config.plist attached to post #48:

Please try the attached EFI folder with IGPU enabled in BIOS. Remember to set dGPU to be Primary Display and do not connect monitors the motherboard video outs.
I don’t know why there was so much in this config, probably a mess up with the old one you helped me clean a month ago, sorry for the confusion ! My config in EFI/Clover is the one I posted in EFI folder, not the one from post #48
I tried your EFI, with no differences. What was the changes you made ? By the way, dgpu is set as primary, and no monitor is connected to igpu (else I would not have it working when igpu is deactivated I think)

ok, I’ve installed it, but it was telling me « you forget to press f4 at startup » (then f2 :)) so it took a while with boots of 6-8 minutes, he should mention that in the topic ;). Here’s the report

thanks to you all !

My previous post was deleted, probably because I didn't added anything new and posted to soon, but I just wanted to know if I had to give up because there's no visible solutions for me, or if it's just that you didn't had time to check out ? @itwas wasn't that the files you requested ? did I made a mistake (again) ?

Cheers & Thanks

[edit] to be able to have preview working, I've added shikigva=32 and shiki-id=Mac-7BA5B2D9E42DDD94 as boot argument, but that don't seem to be a elegant permanent solution

Hey guys !

It's been almost 2 months that I posted the required files, I tried to tweak a bit during this time but with no luck.

I'd just like to know if I can hope for some tests advices, tweaking and ideas, or if there's nothing to hope for ? Even with jpeg preview working, I still have troubles with aac preview, and the boot argument from post above is not the way to go for jpeg ...

Sorry to bother you, but I'd like to make my mHack works properly.

Thanks

Every time you ping here and without any debug data will not help.

You need to post the IOREG output fromIORegistryExplorer App (v2.1) when you have booted with the IGPU enabled.

1. First thoughts are that even though you have set the Model id to iMac15,1 (which is correct for i5-4690), it is not a "natural fit" for your h/w. On a real iMac15,1 the GPU is AMD and NOT NVIDIA. A better model ID is iMac14,2 but it should still be possible to to make it work with iMac15,1.

2. Your ig-platform-id for the IGPU should be set to "connector-less" as you are using the Nvidia GPU connectors for your monitor output. it should be 0x04120004 (byte reversed int he config.plist file (0x04001204).

3. Also one of your debug output shows that there is no IMEI driver kext loaded. WeG kext should have taken care of renaming HECI device to IMEI device but for some reason it has not done that (or could not). Suggest you try an explicit patch in the config.plist to change HECI to IMEI. IMEI driver is needed to help IGPU driver.

4. On a Gigabyte motherboard, in your BIOS setting, make sure the Graphics Memory Allocation is set to 64MB and DVMT Total Memory Size is set to MAX. Also in BIOS, make sure that your Primary GPU is set to Nvidia (PEG) and NOT IGPU. BTW, make sure you have the latest BIOS installed.

5. Download the latest Lilu and WeG kexts into your Clover folder.

6. Copy the attached config file with modifications for 2. and 3. above into your Clover folder.

7. Reboot and even if it takes several minutes to boot, post the IOREG of the booted system

I have added data ! in post #62 there was a lot of files that was asked to me, but since then I had no news that's why I asked to the people that required the files that I joined in #62 if there was a problem, I would not just bump my topic without adding something ! There's the ioreg with igpu enabled.

I will try 2 & 3

4 & 5 are ok

Thanks a lot for your input, I'll post you my results after the week end !

(sorry it's been a week, to much work to try this before)

Here it is !

So, changing my config.plist or using yours have the same result as always : very long boot then black screen, I can only connect remotly from another Mac. Here's the ioreg with igpu activated in BIOS and your change in config.plist

Thanks !

Hi !
It seems that when I answer to someone about my problem, I make them flee :). I answered to jaymonkey, pastrychef, mattystonnie, itwas, macnb and provided asked files, but people disappear one after the other, what did I do to make you all run away ? ;)

I have never owned a Z97 system and I've never had a chance to mess with one so I don't have any wisdom to share with these systems...
