Hi. Has anyone seen the problem that I am facing? Video below. I can`t seem to find anything on the forums about it. Everything works allright on my setup, except these videos from my camera (1080p 60fps) that play perfectly on windows 7 or on my macbook air.

Only happens on 60fps videos. These were converted from the AVCHD streams using an app called mediaconverter, basically it just repackages the AVCHD into .mov files.

I am on the verge of going back to windows just because of this little glitch that annoys me so much, everytime I have videos to download to my hackintosh.

Youtube video showing the issue:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ayrbJIM-P4A

Original file (90mb) (make sure you click on DOWNLOAD, don`t watch using the web video player)
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B1EsGZW3zSLJREpKcFhfSVhpZEk/edit?usp=sharing

It`s not a hardware problem. This plays perfectly on windows 7 using like 1% cpu.
CPU Core 2 Quad Q6600
Graphics Geforce GTX560ti
256gb SSD.

Thanks!

It is. QE/CI is working, all animations are fluid and I have everything okay, Video card detected correctly on System Report, 3d (like OpenGL) is working fine. It's something else that I cannot find out what it is. I would really like if someone downloaded the original file and tried playing.

Cheers.

It works properly here with MPlayerX (App Store) but doesn't with QuickTime. I don't know why but it seems that the problem is on the video player. If you're using QuickTime, try another player.

I have:

Celeron Dual Core 2.6GHz, 4GB Ram and Geforce 8400GS 512MB.

Gstrider, I can play it ALMOST perfectly using VLC.

The thing is (and it's annoying):

Plays flawless on my Macbook Air, with integrated graphics. And it doesn't use a lot of cpu power, plays on Quicktime.
Plays on other macs too, with mixed experiences, but never with this stuttering (like 3 to 3 seconds).

Dunno what is happening.

Cheers to anyone helping.

Plays fine here in quicktime. The only thing out of the ordinary for my set up is that I'm using clover bootloader (with graphics injection) and I have an edited applegraphicspowermanagement.kext. My gpu sat in gpu power state 1 while playing the movie (450mhz).

Eradicator06,

I am willing to try that bootloader and that KEXT, I am 100% sure that its some obscure configuration, because the quad-core q6600 is more than capable of playing this video, and also the gpu.

Do you mind posting your clover configuration and this edited kext?

Cheers!!!

What are you using for a system identification? I'm using imac11,3. It's what matches my set up the closest.

There are good instructions for editing your AGPM kext in the 560ti fermi freeze thread. They are in the 1st post. Those are the values I use. One thing you need to note is if you use an iMac setting then you need to use a control-id of 17. control-id 18 is required if you use MacPro.

Here is my clover config.plist:

Make sure to use your own values for MLB and the serial number. I also have iMac11,3 set and I use a custom SSDT.amp. That's why the drop ssdt tables is set.

I have the same problem on my laptop (i5 2,50ghz HD3000) but in opposite way, All 60fps videos play smoothly only in Quicktime player, On every other player like VLC, MPlayerX etc. I get lags or drop to 30/25 fps all the time.
