Hi,

I've just started my very first computer build. I went with the parts listed at the CustoMac mATX and I am currently building it right now.

I've bought the Corsair CX500M power supply and the EVGA GeForce GTX 760 GPU.

The question is - which cable goes where? I got a cable that came with the power supply where one end goes to the PSU. The other end splits into two separate 6-pin plugs labeled PCI-E. On each of the two 6-pin PCI-E labeled plugs there is a 2-pin. Only one of these 2-pins can fit into the GPU. See the attached photo: http://imgur.com/mGyoACr

But I have not used one of the cables that came with the GPU. Is that bad?

It may be a very dumb question but I won't risk frying any of my brand new hardware.

Thanks in advance

it has both. 1x6pin and 1x8pin.
A 2x6+2 pin pci-e with a 8-pin in the other end came with the psu.
Im not sure if i should connect the 8-pin to my psu because the text under the outlet says "6+2pci-e & 4+4 cpu" im afraid the 8 pin is for the cpu or does it mean that the 8 pin is for the pci-e cable? I have already connected the cpu power connector to the motherboard so i am very confused..

does the end of the pci-e cable go into the 4+4 cpu outlet?
