With a confidence like that, why don't you show us why this one is better than the others? Where is the proof of that?
Look at the caps, there SS vrs. Chem crap in these others. They don't use Chem Caps in motherboards or video cards anymore for a good reasons. Just watch the Stress Test Film on the site to see its capabilities. Further, if you load most of these others up, other than Platinum or Titanium rated, you will see the rated voltages drop below the mins. Your PS is the heart of your machine, don't cheap out like the OEM's do: Dell, HP, etc. "Efficiency" under full load. When does the fan turn on, if needed, for your particular usage this shows how hot it gets and how efficient it is. There are many options out there, this is only one. Please do not look at wattage ratings, this is theoretical, under low loads, the real wattage will be under your machine's component's load(s) and for the most part, will be far lower, than advertised wattage from any manufacturer.

are you using the stock G5 power supply fans for ventilation? looks good all painted!

Why do you guys always suggest crap supplies, crap caps. and you don't need excessive voltage. It is the heart of the build.

interesting power supply - it is a DC-ATX so it offloads the fan to a separate AC-DC converter? do you think the converter would be located outside the case or internally and alongside the DC-ATX power supply? i'm looking for a power supply that will fit in the same enclosure the existing G5's power supply did; the optional AC-DC converter seem to be bulky for this specific, powermac G5 application.

i replaced stock G5 power supply fans by dell server fan with same dimension because they are old and noise. If i can chose, i will use a Nocture's fan but it's difficult to buy them at my country. Unlucky, psu die then 2 months use (i bought a second hand psu) :(

Anybody know how well-suited the FSP700-80UEPB would be?

Ceteris paribus I'd probably be happier with the SuperMicro, but I haven't been able to find which cable adapters would work for it (the connectors it comes with are custom for SuperMicro's own motherboards etc).
