Hi Rayd, here's what finally worked for me. Many thanks (again) to toleda for his brilliant work.

First you will need to restore your original 10.10 AppleHDA.kext and remove all your other patch attempts. Then go to toleda's github site at https://github.com/toleda/audio_RealtekALC and run his latest command line patch from terminal. The file is called audio_realtekALC-100.command.zip and it worked perfectly on both my DQ77KB boards.

He's got complete instructions there too.

Cheers!

Tried everything listed - DSDT edits, SSDT edits, all patches described, all Audio Layouts 1/2/3

nothing worked, might have to go vanilla reinstall and hope for the best :(

Thanks for your assistance though!

Hi Kiwi

The Cube is now running perfectly with Yosemite and Clover 2953. I've used the native Apple Yosemite installer and updated directly from 10.9.5 to Yosemite.

Definitely the way to go.

A detailed Clover guide for the DQ77KB will follow soon. :beachball:

My Clover guide for the Z68MX-UD2H-B3 is here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/powermac-...l-reloaded-edition-new-pics-6.html#post882675

MacTester

Hi MacTester, I have your same configuration of Cube only the cpu change (i3-3225).
Can you tell me how to switch from Maverick (Multibeast method) to Yosemite (Clover method)?
What option I do select in the Clover configuration and in the bios/uefi?
Can I simply upgrade the OS or I must start from scratch?
Thank you very much!

Hi MacTester, have you had this issue?

Updated 10.10 to 10.10.1 on all the machines. Everything 100% except the i7 Cube with 27" Cinema display. On that system, the update finished ok, but upon trying to restart, it gets 1/2 way across the Apple scrollbar in Clover, then when the cursor and initial screen is supposed to happen, the cube restarts.

The i3 Cube (DQ77KB) with 20" Cinema Display worked perfect without this issue.

Seems that when step 2 of the scrollbar is supposed to kick in, and the boot complete itself, thats the point when it goes blank and immediately restarts.

Just wondering if you've seen this? Very odd.

EDIT: Upon further testing, I discovered it works through the HDMI port to a 20" Cinema Display, but not through the mDP to the 27" ACD. Strange, must be related to the 27" somehow.

Hi ersterhernd,

10.10.1 is one of the worst pieces of software from Apple so far (just my opinion - I've read that similar KP issues even happen on real Macs). I had the same issue here on the Cube and the Hemi was just unusable (lots of random restarts).

Since 10.10 sleep was screwed up on the cube - lots of wakes during the night, crashed in the morning (happens too on real macs and still not fixed from Apple)

I did the following:
- moved back to 10.10 on the Hemi after lots of unsuccessful attempts to fix it...
- on the Cube, the new 267 version of AppleHDA was the culprit. After re-applying the patch https://github.com/toleda/audio_CloverALC it's stable now... fingers crossed!

Some history: all my systems are now running the newest clover version (the Hemi in UEFI mode). The Cube and the Hemi are running the new XCPM power management mode. All systems have a new SSDT (generated with https://github.com/Piker-Alpha/ssdtPRGen.shSSDT)

Hope you can fix your issue...

Cheers!

Thanks. I don't feel so bad now.

I couldn't get it to boot with the 27" screen, no matter what I tried.

Back to 10.10 it is.

Cheers!

Hi MacTester57,
can you post here the config.plist file for clover configuration?
Thank you

Hi pep_one

Here is my config and some more files. Please note the following:
- You need to add your serial, ROM & MLB
- Clover is installed in legacy mode in accordance with this guide (UEFI is just not yet reliable enough in my opinion): http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-desktop-guides/144426-how-install-os-x-yosemite-using-clover.html
- The SSDT is for an i7-3770S and was generated with this script (no overrides): https://github.com/Piker-Alpha/ssdtPRGen.sh
- If your BIOS isn't patched, you need to enable "Asus AICPM" in legacy PM mode or "KernelPM" in XCPM mode.
- Sound was enabled with this script: https://github.com/toleda/audio_CloverALC
- The DSDT is for a patched 0051 BIOS and enables USB3.0 with the AppleUSBXHCI.kext. To achieve working USB3.0 with the Apple kext, it's necessary to use the patches "7 / 8 series USB" & "7 series USB 3 Multiplex" from this repo (if you have a different BIOS version and have to generate a new DSDT): http://raw.github.com/RehabMan/Laptop-DSDT-Patch/master. Do NOT install or inject GenericUSBXHCI.kext.

I recommend to have two Clover installations: one on your HD and one on a USB thumb drive as backup, if your system should not boot anymore during tests.

And yes, it's possible to "transform" your old installation to Clover:
- Set up clover on your USB drive
- If everything runs OK, remove the "extra folder"
- If you are sure, that all required additional kexts are injected properly, delete them in S/L/E and rebuild cache...

Good luck

MacTester

Thank you very much, MacTester57 you're wonderful!
I'll try the installation in these days... hopefully good

I don't have this system as you know, but the symptoms are very alike to some I have had with Yosemite when doing NUC tests.
That kind of behaviour can be caused by one or both of two things.
1. IOGraphicsFamily.kext may panic during second stage boot (when the kext initialises). There are Clover patches out there, some systems need two Clover patches, some just need the second patch. For my i5 NUC we just use the second patch (at least for my video device this is what works). An annoying thing is that the required patch seems at the moment to be varying in different Yosemite releases - i.e. it is reported in places that the IOGraphicsfamily.kext patch for upcoming 10.10.2 will be different to the one for 10.10.1
2. Another thing that could be happening is that the Azul kext may be causing it. A sure fire way of checking that out is to change the priority of the Video device in the UEFI settings. For instance, if you use HDMI for your connection, try setting Display Port as your primary adapter BUT keep the HDMI as your physical connection. This of course will give poor resolution in the bootloader stage, but when you arrive at desktop it will be normal. Equally, if you use DP as your actual physical connection try setting HDMI as primary. A patch to the Azul kext was developed by Pike during early developer releases of Yosemite, but thankfully when the GM came out it wasn't needed.
Sorry for the rambling here, but I thought it might help!!
