I have had this problem for a year now, but in the last few weeks its gotten worse and its driving me crazy.
I have posted about this in the past with no answers. Im hoping after some time maybe someone can give me some advice.

My audio works. However when I start my computer it often times (well all the time now) just gives me static audio. There is audio but it's all distorted, popping, static. My solution to this is to reboot, and while on my clover boot screen, hold my power button to shut down completely. Then when I turn it back on and boot completely back into Mac, my audio works fine again.

Now this is what i have done for a year when it occasionally did this. Now however its doing it every time I start up and often times is taking multiple reboots(with manual shutdowns) to get it working. Its becoming very annoying.

I just wondered if anyone else has encountered this kind of problem? i don't know what kind of info to provide.

Ok I will go through this reporting procedure again, however I'm fairly certain its going to show that my audio is working fine. i can assure you at the moment it is not. All I get is static and crackling. I've rebooted 5 times doing the usual power down procedure mentioned above but no luck today to get it working.

1. audio is static and crackling (been doing this for a year, but I also can get it to work as mentioned above, by luck it seems)
2. 10.12.6/GA-Z170X-UD5/F5/Intel i7 6700k/EVGA GTX 1070 FTW
3. sorry don't know what to do
4. attached
5. don't see it in extensions
6. don't see it in extensions
7. can't find anything with "kernel Sound Assertions"
8. Attached
9. n/a
10. attached
11. harmonkardon (not sure model)/ green/output- line out

I hope the info I provided is enough. I appreciate any help you can give as this is going to drive me insane lol

Thank you
Jim

Wow, I think that did the trick! I hadn't adjusted these before so I don't know what happened. I also have audio after waking up from sleep which I never did with this build.

Thank you so much, man, your time is greatly appreciated. This has seriously been a pain in the butt for me. And so annoying!!!
Have a great weekend.

I woke up today, again no audio.

ok I must be honest, I have no idea how to remove bus speed and frequency settings. I thought by loading optimized defaults in bios would have fixed it, and it seemed like it had yesterday. (especially since my wake from sleep worked) Googling how to do this I see OCing mentioned a lot, I never attempted to do that. But I can't seem to figure out where this stuff is loaded in BIOS that i should be removing.
Can ya help a noob, where in bios should I be looking to make these changes more specifically?

EDIT: Also, the headphone jack on the front of my tower works fine.

Thanks

Duh, ok I didn't know I should have been looking in config.plist. I probably did set that myself, for some reason after getting advice or reading something on here (can't remember been quite some time) but I really never knew I was overclocking anything.

ok I removed that, however still static and cracking. Anything else I can try??
Thanks for your patience and sorry for my noobness
