Post Upgrade to 10.9.5 Stuck at System uptime in nanoseconds

Hi all,

My System HP Probook 4540s (1366 x 768)
i just did a upgrade from 10.9.1 to 10.9.5 using the combo update file.

Using Unibeast installer USB (on right side USB ports) i am trying to boot to disk so that i
can install Hp Installer package

I have tried all the below flags

-f -v
-f -x -v
-f -x IGPEnabler=Yes IGPlatformID=01660003

But the system quickly goes to the below error

"System uptime in nanoseconds: xxxxx"

Please help to restore my system.

I tried the flags you mentioned but still stuck at the same error for long.
Attaching the error photo.

I even tried without using unibeast USB ..just pressed space and entered the flags to try to boot from HDD.
But no gain

Hi rehabman,

I finally resolved the issue.
The mistake i was doing was
I was not booting from the USB Drive actually and was from HDD
I was thinking i had USB as my startup 1st preference but it was the HDD which was booting from.

Solution :
I pressed F9 to select boot drive
selected the Sandisk USB Drive to boot from
Selected the HDD and provide -f option only
and Bingo i see the OSX booted up from HDD
Installed the HP Installer package and running fine now....

Seems likely you're not using your USB to boot. Make sure you're selecting specifically the USB stick via Esc->F9 at the HP logo.

Read carefully step 3 of the upgrade guide:

3. You will need to boot using your Unibeast USB (eg. F9 at BIOS). Use "-f" to boot the installation on your HDD.

Not expected to work.

I can get to the login screen by using -f, but cannot login. The touchpad does not work, and the system is frozen. What are my options?

What indications do you have that the system is "frozen?" Is the clock updating?

If just internal keyboard/touchpad not working, use a USB keyboard/mouse.

The clock does not update and external keyboard & mouse dont work either.
