My 2012 build still going strong. Only update has been the GPU when NVIDIA was dropped.

My ageing i7-3770K + RX580 still going strong:

Overclocked to 4.8Ghz with Corsair H100i AIO cooler:

Sapphire Nitro+ RX 580 8GB score LOW after reboot:

But AFTER sleep, GPU score is "normal" :

Running GB few minutes later, the GPU scores are back to LOW (~ 27000).
Apparently many systems are experiencing is "behaviour".
Looks like it is only observable with GeekBench.
LuxMark score is the same before/after sleep.

These are the Geekbench 5 scores for my i7-4790K/Z97X-UD5H/RX580/iMac15,1 system, the first pair of tests running Catalina, the second pair running Big Sur.

Screenshot 2021-01-06 at 17.40.52.png CPU test Catalina

Screenshot 2021-01-06 at 17.42.29.png Metal test RX580 Catalina

Screenshot 2021-01-06 at 17.52.53.png CPU test Big Sur

This is 395 points lower (approximately -9%) on the multi-Core score compared to the Catalina score above.

The single Core score is lower too, but that is negligible.

Possibly showing the impact the software emulation we are using to run Big Sur on our Intel systems has on the CPU.

Screenshot 2021-01-06 at 17.54.53.png Metal Test RX580 Big Sur

The Big Sur Metal score is slightly higher than the Catalina score but not really noticeable (+798 points which equals approx +1.5%)

Shows how little impact the software emulation we are using to run Big Sur has on the dGPU.

My Geekbench 5 score:

Asus TUF Gaming Z490-PLUS - i9-10850K - Saphire Radeon RX590 Nitro+ SpecialEdition. Just default settings, no overclock.

My Metal score:

I did the Benchmark after wake from sleep. On first boot the Compute Benchmark is always lower, around 39000.
That makes me think that there is something wrong with WhateverGreen somehow. Also others are reporting the same issue.

They are not that low, on a par with other i9 CPU's as far as I can see, see this post on page 63 for another i9 CPU - #629

The single core score is fine, the multi-core score may be a little low. The only scores higher are from the newer 10-series CPU's.

What else was running on your system when you ran the test?
