Hi,

have you installed the ALC898 kext?

I'll be honest,

I have no idea on how to do this?

Ok no problem;)

Take a look on the installation guides in the forum.

At the very end there is a Post-Installation section. Follow this section and you get it to work.

Download Multibeast, install the drivers for your Mainboard, make a restart and all should work well ;)

EDIT: As you installed it via clover bootloader, you should click on drivers-->Realtek ALCxxx--> ALC889 + Optional EFI Installed Bootloader Support.

Hi

I've just done that, still nothing.

The only reason I tried Clover, was to get iMessage working

Now I have no sound, thinking should I go back to other bootloader

:(

Version 7

Why?

aaaaaah wait...

I made a mistake in the last post :(
You have to pick the ALC 898 NOT the ALC 889.

Sry for this

Hope this works!

Ok, fresh install, got it working

Thanks for the help

Didn't know that I can use multibeast to install kext

Now to call apple to get iMessage & FaceTime working

Will do that tomorrow after work

Well spoke too soon,

Got up in the morning, switched on computer and nope, sound has disappeared once again.

I'll have to investigate this after work
