Have any of you guys (especially the ones doing scratch builds) come across these piezo pushbutton switches like the one linked below?

I much prefer the look of these rather than the standard momentary push button switches. However, I am not sure how they work as power buttons. I have come across some conflicting information in my searches, some saying that a piezo switch will require additional wiring to make it work while others say I can just wire it up like I would any standard switch.

Does anyone have an experience with these?

While the Piezo Switch most likely would work in your power on circuit, I am always cautious and use a miniature 5VDC relay to isolate my hacked circuit from the motherboard. For example take a look at this project: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/a-skylake-cube.197843/page-5 see/read posts 45 and 46.

Good modding,

Hi, is there anything 'off the shelf' that would make the Piezo switch 'safer' to use? I prefer the look of them aswell.
