Persistant installation issues

Hi, im hoping someone can offer some much needed assistance!

Basically when installing OS X Lion via USB it gets stuck at the following;

once this happens and you restart the computer, this causes either the hard drive, cd drive or usb drive to become unrecognizable until you completely power cycle the computer. I have been following this thread;

but not getting anywhere with it. I cant get Snow Leopard to install either.

My system is a

Zotac H55ITX-A-E
Intel i3 550
2GB DDR3 1333
Sapphire HD5450
500GB WD HDD

just to add, i have tried a new hard drive, a different graphics card, different bios options you name it
