I have found one advantage of disabling CSM - allows higher screen res at boot for cClover and Apple Logo. With it on Auto the best resolution I could get was 1280x1024 - even with 2560x1440 set in config.plist. Disabled CSM and I now get 2560x1440.

With CSM on Auto:
0:389 0:180 === [ InitScreen ] ========================================
0:389 0:000 SetScreenResolution: 2560x1440 - not found!
0:389 0:000 SetMaxResolution: found best mode 2: 1280x1024
0:549 0:160 Video mode change to mode #2: Success

With CSM Disabled:
0:386 0:178 === [ InitScreen ] ========================================
0:386 0:000 SetScreenResolution: 2560x1440 - setting Mode 0
0:395 0:008 Video mode change to mode #0: Success

That's Strange. I have CSM enabled and never had a problem with this exact resolution. Is you display connected via DP or HDMI?

Using DP to an Eizo CG227. You have CSM Enabled or Auto?

Hey,

when I boot the machine it after it loads clover the apple logo with the loading bar comes up and it goes until about 60% then the screen goes black for quite a while (+- 20 sec) and then it shows the log in screen. Any idea why this happens? It used to boot faster than this. Not a big problem though, but just wondering.

Cheers!

It does go black for me too but the duration is very short (maybe a second or two). Then the Apple logo returns and the loading process completes and it goes to my desktop (I disable login screen on boot).

I don't know why you have a long delay. Do you have many login items that need to load? Are you using HFSPlus.efi in your EFI/Clover/drivers64UEFI/ folder instead of VBoxHSF-64.efi?

Apple released macOS Sierra 10.12.4 today.

Maximux VIII Gene upgraded fine. However, some of the icons in Safari seem distorted with the latest Nvidia web drivers.

Make sure you have Clover version 3994 or higher if you will be upgrading.

For those who need it, here is the Nvidia web driver associated with this macOS release:
https://images.nvidia.com/mac/pkg/367/WebDriver-367.15.10.45f01.pkg

Update:

It turns out that the cause of the distorted icons were due to the use of Lilu.kext and NvidiaGraphicsFixup.kext. I removed them and used the AGDPfix 1.3 to fix iMac17,1 black screen and everything is back to normal again.

Update #2:

New Cuda drivers are now available:

Can you advise on what the BIOS Boot>CSM (Compatibility Support Module) setting should be for this Mobo - Auto, Enabled or Disabled?

I have mine set to Disabled.

This allows Windows 10 to boot with a normal size logo.

Other than that, I don't see an advantage with CSM so I just keep it disabled.

For anyone still experiencing this problem after trying this fix. Check your BIOS settings and make sure 'Internal Graphics' is disabled. This removed the distorted icons for me.

Just noticed that in System Information the PCI section shows nothing installed - even though I'm using a GTX 950 as my GPU! Is this a peculiarity of using iMac17,1 sys def?
