Yes, the only real disadvantage to 3401 is lack of native NVRAM. If you are using a Kaby Lake CPU, you really have no choice but use 3401. Skylake CPU users can stay at 2202.

EmuVariableUEFI-64 and RC scripts work fine as a substitute for native NVRAM and many people use it.

The one feature of native NVRAM that I feel is great is the ability to see a panic report when the system reboots after a crash. This can make troubleshooting much easier.

I just spent the last two hours testing the modified 2202 BIOS. Unfortunately, it displayed the same strange overclocking that I saw with the stock 2202 BIOS. When using the A.I. Suite, it would auto tune to well over 7GHz and beyond. I have to force stop it for it to stop the insanity...

Here's a screenshot at 6GHz, I force stopped it after taking the screenshot:

So, I'm back on 3401 where the auto tuning returns normal results.

really strange. I did not have this issue.
i have done a clean windows 10 install and then I install only 2 drivers (mei and intel chipset) and then the ai suite 3 and it works for me

My Windows installation is pretty clean. I don't use it for many things and have never had to install too many drivers and/or apps. This same Windows install was able to overclock my Skylake CPU using the A.I. Suite fine with the stock 2202 BIOS. But when I tried with my Kaby Lake CPU, it gave me these crazy results. What was more troubling, upon reboot, the insane overclock ratio was seen in BIOS.

i have issues with sleep...post code 00.
maybe I will try the new bios and I will go with emu variable.
ps i tried quickly this kext for imac18,3 usb, and it seems to work

With BIOS 3401 and macOS 10.12.5, sleep was working great. I disabled Power Nap.

It has only been about a day, but so far, BIOS 3401 and macOS 10.12.6 also seems to sleep fine.

bios 3503 posted on the 21th of July, improved system performance.
ps for me, my modified usbinjectall with iMac 18,3 is working great
