Nvidia finally released their web drivers for Sierra 10.12.6 and I upgraded macOS immediately.

Since I've upgraded my CPU to an i7-7700K, I had to make a few changes to my config.plist after updating to 10.12.6 to take advantage of the new native support for Kaby Lake.

In Clover Configurator:
  • Devices section, leave IntelGFX blank.
  • Devices section, delete AAPLGfxyTile. It's no longer needed.
  • Graphics section, change ig-platform-id to 0x59120003. This will keep Quick Sync enabled.
  • Kernel and Kext Patches section, leave FakeCPUID blank.
  • Kernel and Kext Patches section, delete AppleIntelSKLGraphicsFrameBuffer since we are no longer using it.
Also, I installed Lilu.kext, NvidiaGraphicsFixup.kext, and IntelGraphicsFixup.kext.

Update:
Forum member mig has come up with a great solution to fix iBooks and Xcode bug:

I tested the iMac18,3 system definition briefly but will stay with iMac17,1 for now because I noticed some weird anomalies...
  1. Some of my USB devices were not appearing while other devices on the same hub did appear.
  2. My 10GbE PCI-e card was not seen.
For now, I recommend that everyone using this Gene motherboard stick with either iMac14,2 or iMac17,1 system definition for now.

I have just opened a ticket to RehabMan. it seems that the latest USBInjectall works only with iMac18,1 but not with iMac18,3
stay tuned

5.1 ghz??? You are extremely lucky!
how much ram do you have?

speaking about bios version, if you want a more vanilla build, I have kept bios 2202 but I updated the cpu microcode with this tool http://www.win-raid.com/t154f16-Tool-Guide-News-quot-UEFI-BIOS-Updater-quot-UBU.html
so I have a "modded" bios. I have a 2202 with nvram writable with the latest cpu support

Hi, xelanaiznac!

Yes, I got very lucky with the silicon lottery. Lol. But I still don't think it would have been possible without delidding the CPU. It really helps tremendously with temperatures. I am running 64GB at 3467MHz.

Any chance you have a copy of your modded 2202??? I would love to have back NVRAM. It's really a huge advantage. I would not have upgraded to 3401 if it was at all avoidable.

I did not have to use the extra SSDT-HDMI-HD630-AirPlay.aml or SSDT-XCPM.aml to get Quick Sync working. For me, using 0x59120003 for ig-platform-id was the key to activating Quick Sync.

Now, with the NVWebDriverLibValFix, everything works wonderfully. You can read more about it here: #181

Is your SSDT-XCPM.aml part of what you needed for Quick Sync?

Other than USB anomalies when using iMac18,3, my 10GbE PCI-e card was not recognized at all. You may want to make sure that cards in that slot work before going all in with the 18,3 system definition.

modded bios on post 529
ssdt-xcpm is the new way for proper power management https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/macos-native-cpu-igpu-power-management.222982/page-6
you can use SSDT-HDMI-HD630-AirPlay.aml or you can use 0x59120003 for ig-platform-id. it's the same

Thank you!!!

I will test out the modded BIOS after I have gotten a bit more sleep. I was up all night updating my hackintoshes and testing iMac18,3 system definition. I will report back once I have your modded BIOS installed.

the right USB port to do the usb flash back (the only way to downgrade bios) is the one next to the ethernet port.
ps imac18,3 will not have usb properly working until rehab man fix it

pastry, one question please, before you do the bios flash.
can you give me some bios values to achieve 5.1 overclock? I know you have done it trough ai suite 3, but if you enter in bios, you can give me some important infos, like:
-cpu core ratio (sync all cores?)
-tpu
-cpu svid support
-digi+ vrm cpu load line-calibration
-min cpu cache ratio
-max cpu cache ratio
-cpu core cache voltage

if you want, fell free to post some screenshot
thank you mate

I just spent the last two hours testing the modified 2202 BIOS. Unfortunately, it displayed the same strange overclocking that I saw with the stock 2202 BIOS. When using the A.I. Suite, it would auto tune to well over 7GHz and beyond. I have to force stop it for it to stop the insanity...

Here's a screenshot at 6GHz, I force stopped it after taking the screenshot:

So, I'm back on 3401 where the auto tuning returns normal results.

So said:
Pastrychef, is the nvram issue the only disadvantage with 3401? If I use the efi etc. that you used, does that fix the problem well enough?
