pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

Yup: for IPV4 and IPV6 both.

(Would anything at all work if it wasn't?) I"m not having any other internet issues, AFAICT...

Networking will work even if it's not en0, but App Store might be broken.

Did you try deleting package receipts?

Well, there's a thought... no I didn't, because it fails to work under Catalina, -and- under my virtual machine running Mojave...

I don't know about your VM. On your hack, the things that may affect App Store are en0, MAC address, serial, board serial, UUID. You can always try redoing your serial, board serial, UUID and see if it helps.

Yep... just weird. I just now deauthorized the machine and reauthorized it. Choose App Store... again, and got a blank screen for about 20 seconds while it re-populated. There are all the apps I've purchased, complete with little clouds to download them... and (sigh) checking updates still says ""No Updates. All your apps are up to date."

So it recognizes me for all my purchases, and will let me download them again, but refuses to find any updates. Maybe I'll buy something and see what happens... Meanwhile I'll see if I can hunt down a 2-month or more older EFI backup from storage... Thanks.

If I ever get it figured out, I'll let you know....

Stay well! :)

Just to follow up: no luck. I went back to a config.plist from before I installed Catalina, and all the SIMBIOs entries are identical. There were a few settings in the config that were different, such as MatchHeaders and a few other things, and so just for giggles I changed back to those and rebooted. At first I was encouraged that I had to sign into my account all over again (a few times) and thought "Aha!"... but alas... no. Everything still seems to work, but of course I'm still getting the No Updates message. I think I'm hard-wired out of updates at this point. I'll just have to check on my other machine, and download again on this if I find something needs updating.

Very annoying.

Now, however, I have a config.plist for this Hero XI mobo that is in heaven-only-knows what shape. Can you by any chance point me at someone's working config.plist for this, or who to ask? I'd like to know what -should- be enabled/set from someone with a working machine.

Again, thanks for your help and couragement.

I think I've posted an EFI for you before in this thread. Just search for posts by you on this thread and you should be able to find it.

Any thoughts on the reasoning/solution for this?

Everything boots fine, just wondering what the issue is and would to fix it.

Which version of macOS are you on? Which version of Clover?

Try removing the "beta" boot arguments to see if it makes any difference.

Just updated to the newest clover and macos last night. Will try that

Also, just woke my mac and it froze. :(

EDIT2: The panic seems to an AppleALC panic, which should be fixed with the KernelToPatch code already in your config. However, it seems not to work.

1. @adenbeckitt I get the same on boot, but does not seem to cause any problems

2. I get the same kernel panic - and @pastrychef also noted that he gets it, after upgrading to 10.15.4. He mentions it in the 10.15.4 upgrade thread, and I asked about it there (https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/macos-10-15-4-update.292646/page-12#post-2091141)! He said that he just disabled WhateverGreen to fix (which I think just means removing the -wegbeta boot argument).
