No, with @RehabMan SSDT you don't change anything.
The SSDT refers to a specific controller, in this case XHC SSDT-UIAC-USB-8086_a2af
Usually if you switch from one SMBIOS to the next you have to change nothing with this method given that you pick the right controller type at the very beginning.

Even though I applied the 10.14.5 USB patches and the controller is the a2af port HS13 and HS14 are gone as well as the USR1 and USR2.
Bluetooth happens to be in the HS13 so with SMBIOS 19,2 that is gone.
Strange.

I've had a very similar experience with an Asus Z390-A:

• first of all the USB sub-tree in Z390s motherboards is named "8086_a36d", differently from previous Z370/270 motherboards.
• Under Z390-A the same corrected compiled USB SSDT works perfectly with 18,3 SMBIOS but it does not work at all under SMBIOS 19,2. Really don't know why. But I guess @RehabMan should be aware of this.
• I haven't found the courage to change the SMBIOS in my actual machine, which is a Asus Z370-A II with 9900K, because it's my working machine I'd like to be pretty sure of what I'm doing...

• with your rig I guess you have to deal with a lots TB of data and as I have a NAS with a lot of TB too, I'd like to have some advices on how to improve speed in copying/backupping/moving big bunch of data. Which 10Gb card would you suggest me? Which network switch? do you use SDD/Nvme caching on NAS or Mac?

Hahaha. Thanks for noticing. I actually did the folder icons myself with "EFI" images I found on Google.

I wrote a little bit about the NAS that I use here. I don't move nearly as much data as I used to but it's still nice to have 10GBase-T. With AFP, I get about 300MB/s writes and 800MB+/s reads. I just mount the volumes on my desktop and use them as I would any local drive.

On my hack, I'm using a Syba AQC107 based 10GBase-T card. This card is natively supported by macOS. No need to add any kexts or use any patches. Others have also reported success with the AQC107 based cards from Synology and Sonnet.

On my NAS, I have an Intel X540-T2 card. It's a 2 port 10GBase-T card.

I connect directly to the NAS negating any need for a switch. If you need a switch, any 10GBase-T switch should work but they are kind of expensive.

I don't use any SSD/NVMe caching on the NAS. I haven't found a need to and I worry about catastrophe if/when something goes wrong and the cache data hasn't been fully written to the NAS yet.

Ooops... I forgot that you need to change system definition to iMac18,1. Remember to copy/paste your Serial, Board Serial, and UUID.

Wrong. None of them - Asus Z370-A, Z370-A II, and Z390-A - have thunderbolt on board . They only have TB header, but all of them need a separate cards on PCIEx to have TB connectivity's functionality.

Oh come on! They all have Thunderbolt support on board. They do have Thunderbolt chips, ie headers, on board. It's very clear what I meant. And furthermore, as my comment relates to the poster it was meant for, without that TB support, no motherboard currently on sale will support TB. Need a card? Sure, but it's more important, if you want TB to work on your system to understand that your motherboard need that TB support built-in before you can actually try to use it. Otherwise, it won't work - at all.

Hmm... I don't know why the native resolution is not available...

You may need to use ResXtreme or SwitchRes...

Hello! My build is very close to yours, but from the beginning I have a problem that I can't solve: the computer hangs constantly during operation. Sometimes I got a message about kernel panic, sometimes not. This happens a few minutes after the system starts (or wakes up), or maybe a few hours later. Once a day or more. This behaviour doesn't depend on the specific software I use, but very often it happens with video editing software.

Prior to the current build, I had basically the same configuration, but with the 8600K and Sapphire Pulse RX 570, the same symptoms, but I downgraded from Mojave to High Sierra and the problem was solved. This doesn’t help with the current configuration (Gigabyte Z370M D3H, 9900K, AMD Vega 56).

I tried to switch iGPU off in BIOS, different SMBIOS, whatever - nothing helps.

Current build: GA-Z370M D3H, i9-9900K, AMD Vega 56 8Gb, HyperX 32GB 2666Mhz, Samsung EVO970 250GB, be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4, Aerocool KCAS-650M Plus, OSX 10.14.5
