Hey, any early testing with Catalina?

Oh, ok. I've never looked through the rules so I didn't know that lol. Thanks.

You should, you agreed to them when you created your account.

@pastrychef
How are used SMBIOS iMac19,x?
Do you need an Intel F CPU? So a CPU without the iGPU?
Or can those SMBIOS be used with an i9 9900K or i7 8700 CPU as well?
Thanks!

So far, it seems fine. Can't tell any difference from when I was using iMac18,1, to be honest.

No, I use i9-9900K with IGPU configured as headless.

Yes.

Thanls for your reply.
As far as you know when using a SMBIOS iMac19,x do you have to setup a headless Mac?
I would imagine so.
Is the iGPU being ditched?
Thanks a lot.

Yes, I have my IGPU configured to be headless.

No, real iMac19,x have IGPU. I'm using the same ig-platform-id and device-id settings as real iMac19,xs.

Thanks again.
So basically the iMac19,x SMBIOS allows you to go both headless and not. For us it means we could go headless without having to pick iMacPro1,1 SMBIOS.
Then why are you using it headless if your CPU has iGPU?

Thanks!

Headless means that the IGPU is active and works. It's just not giving video output. It acts more like a co-processor.

Since my CPU has IGPU, I may as well use it...

If you disable IGPU, then iMacPro1,1 is probably a better system definition for you to use.

I have a Z370 board with i7 8700. Brand new.
That system has turbo and all core frequency tops out @4.3Ghz.
I'm using SMBIOS 18,3. I have a Radeon RX 580 8GB Nitro.
The system just works perfect.

Now...
I've updated to 10.14.5 and without modifying the bios or anything
the system now tops out at 3.2Ghz. it's wayy slower.
Am I missing anything? Are there new options that have to be modifies in 10.14.5 to make it run as before?

Thanks!
