pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

EDIT: Everything works just fine except for Sleep / Wake, when it enters into the sleep mode it actually sleeps (everything turned off) but just after a couple of seconds all the hardware turns on again followed by the sound of a maximum exhausted fan spin (GPU) for a second but the computer is not awake in fact I need to click a button to show the login screen. If don't press any button it just loops into this procedure of Sleeping > Wake > Maximum GPU Fan Spin > Sleep Wake > Maximum GPU FAN Spin and so...
I'm also noticing that the fans of my Gygabyte RX 580 are always spinning, I remember that in the past they used to spin just when using Photoshop or other softwares which uses directly the GPU acceleration.
Any suggestion? Thanks.

First, apply one of the proper USB 15 port limit fixes. Then check sleep again.

Of course I did, I'm using your EFI, sleep feature is still broken.

Please enter the following in Terminal and post the output:
Code:
log show --style syslog | fgrep "Wake reason"

USB seems to be your problem.

Hi @pastrychef

the costs are now lowered ... I'm about to get a MSI Radeon RX Vega 56 Air Boost 8G OC (I think it will come next week).
Can you send me please how to correctly configure it? Settings for VGTab?
iMacPro1,1 system definition.
BIOS settings:
Primary Display - PCIE
IGPU Multi-Monitor Disabled

It was a while ago... But I think these were the settings I used...

Core Frequency: 1630MHz
Core Voltage: 1010mV @ P7
Memory Frequency: 900MHz (Be careful with this setting. Not all cards have memory that can clock well.)
Memory Voltage: 1250mV

Idle Speed: 800rpm
Target Speed: 3600rpm (I also tried 4900rpm here. I forgot which I ended up sticking with.)
Minimum Speed: 400rpm
Maximum Speed: 4900rpm

Target Temperature: 55C (50C also worked well for me.)

Thanks for the reply.
I'm trying to learn how VGTab works.
Core Voltage 1010mV @ P7 (P6; P5; P4 are higher, should they be lowered?)

In the end I got 2 files VegaTab_56_data.txt and VegaTab_56.kext
I think the only kext should be put in EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other, is it correct?

I only changed P7. I left the others alone.

Yes, only the kext is needed. Put it in to /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other/.

Also, remember to change your system definition from iMac18,1 to either iMac18,3, iMac19,1, or iMacPro1,1 (if you have IGPU disabled).

Thanks,

Some of the errors I was getting trying to re-install hinted at memory problems as well. I've tried as suggested and still no luck, so I guess probably a partial M/B failure as it runs the OpenCore loader if I don't try and access the BIOS, so CPU and at least some of the memory have to be ok.

My local supplier happens to have a few Z370G A/C MBs available, so I've ordered one as well as some new memory. Now that the cost has halved, I can get some decent memory. It will be a couple of weeks before I can get to rebuild things though.
Finally able to work on it and the new MB has fixed everything.
