I have just finished this build once more for the exercise of it. I learned that using iGPU needs iMac18,1. If I choose 18,2 or 18,3 the monitor on HDMI turns orange when I choose 90 degree upright standing, and flickering becomes unbearable, and USB-ports is not responding. With iMac18,1 no problemos.

I did not configure the iGPU. The iGPU configured me to disconnect the HDMI-cable before booting.

I have used the unified version of the EFI by Pastrychef, which I configured for a specific motherboard's "USB-ports" after his description. Audio is missing, probably I missed something. The HDMI-cable have to be unplugged when booting. My guess, as a total beginner here is that it might be more fruitful for you, to download the unified version of the EFI on page 1.

Hi, GREAT THREAD and thank you pastrychef!!!!!!! I haven't messed with a hackingtosh for a while now and looks like I forgot most of the things I've learned. I apologize if I'm asking some basic questions but I've looked thru this thread and haven't found answers... I hate to re-format my drive AGAIN and AGAIN so I need a little assistance.
All new stuff in a nut shell...,
ASUS ROG Strix Z370-E Gaming
CPU = 8700K
16G mem
80G SSD
Onboard graphics (for now) using HDMI

I followed the directions and after a couple of tries, I finally have the High Sierra OS loaded and screen not glitchy. (Using onboard graphic card thru HDMI and finally added the "Inject NVIDIA" option in Unibeast did the trick.) Guess I'm to the point I have High Sierra up, Unibeast USB (with EFI loaded from this thread) still in the port since I loaded from it.

At this point, I hate to say but lost. I know I need to get the SSD bootable but I can't remember how. I did previously try to load up MultiBeast, but that lead me to starting from scratch.. no go. I know I'm missing something, sorry to bother. I hate to reboot at this time and have it take a dump on me... Thx

Let me make sure I understand...

• You have created the USB installer using the EFI from post #1.
• You have completed installing High Sierra.
• You need to have the USB installer plugged in to the computer to be able to boot in to High Sierra.

If correct, you should copy your EFI folder from the USB installer to your main system drive.

1. Use EFI Mounter to mount the EFI partitions of your USB installer and your main system drive.
2. Copy the EFI folder from the EFI partition of your USB installer to the EFI partition of your main system drive.
3. In BIOS, set your main system drive to be first in boot order.

The only part I don't understand is why you had to Inject NVIDIA when you don't have an Nvidia video card installed. How did you do this with UniBeast? Before or after installing my EFI folder to your USB installer?

Thank you for the quick response. During the UniBeast installation, there is an Optional Graphics Configuration. 2 options, Inject ATI and Inject NVDIA. When I started this project, I did not select any. I had HS OS come up but graphics were very glitchy. After trial and error, I finally selected one.. the NVIDIA and went thru the entire process of creating the USB and copied your 4.1 EFI.zip to the USB drive.
Now to follow your directions

YES!! Thank you sir!!!! I am booting from the SSD now. Now to do it all over to my M2. This was all practice

Are you using HDMI audio or one of the audio jacks from the motherboard?

Are you saying you don't get any video unless you leave your HDMI cable unplugged when booting?

Please post your EFI. I would like to see what changes you've made and if I can help fix any errors.

If you selected Inject Nvidia prior to copying my EFI folder to your EFI partition then the Inject Nvidia is irrelevant because it gets overwritten once you copy my EFI folder over the existing one.

Are you saying you don't get any video unless you leave your HDMI cable unplugged when booting?

Please post your EFI. I would like to see what changes you've made and if I can help fix any errors.

Audio: I use a headset with the line-out on motherboard.

Video: DP is fine alone (perhaps also HDMI alone, I can't remember). With DP connected and HDMI also start-up halts.
After boot I can reconnect second monitor with HDMI, and both monitors functions. This behaviour I have noticed is described in another thread, with exact same configuration, dual monitor on iGPU.
