I have read elsewhere that as of 13.3, Apple has removed the drivers (and thereby, the support) for the AQC107. Other users have had a terrible time trying to get their cards to work. Have you, or anyone else know anything about this, true or just a bad rumor? I'm currently on 13.4 B1 and I have an OWC external drive (Thunderbolt) with an AQC107 in it, and it really doesn't work, but I just don't know if the driver being removed is the issue or not.

Anyone else on site or comment about this?

Hmm... I no longer have any hacks with AQC107 cards, but the AQC113 in my Mac Studio is working and my OWC AQC107 Thunderbolt adaptor is still working in Ventura 13.3.

In many ways, it seems unreasonable that they would do this. I also have an OWC external Thunderbolt 10G adapter and I just can't think they would just end it. It's probably just flaky TB on my end.

However, there are a few users on that "other" site that are convinced that the game is up for Aqc107 NICs. Now Aqc107 NICs are different from our OWC external 10G adapters. The chip may be the same but the interface is different.

Hmm.......and, as it relates to Ventura 13.3 etc, well, there are a lot of problems with Network cards. We'll see how this all plays out....

I'm just speculating, but I think it's unlikely that Apple would drop support for AQC107 especially when it was used in some real Macs.

it's unlikely to happen since iMacPro has AQC107 on board. Probably it's a matter of Vendor ID or similar, I speculate.

I suspect it's one of your USB 3.1 gen 2 ports... Please try disabling USB 3.1 gen 2 in BIOS and see if it boots.

If you're still around, please try the following:

config.plist > Booter > Quirks > AllowReallocationBlock = disable
config.plist > Booter > Quarks > EnableWriteUnprotector = disable

I've decided it was finally time to update the system. coming from big sur (11.7.5) and going to Ventura. However, after a "successful" install of Ventura, I'm met with a constant bootloop. I am getting the "something went wrong" screen. I'm using your latest EFI and latest bios, I've also skimmed as far back as Feb/Mar 2022, to see if anybody else is having the same problem couldn't really find anything. I've cleared the nvram 5-10 times, no luck (also, how can I get tell if reseting nvram was actually executed/worked?)
I'll try to get a photo of it in verbose mode when I get a chance.

specs: asus rog strix z370-g gaming, i9-9900k, sapphire rx 5700xt 8gb, 32gb ram, wd black sn750 1tb m.2
using imacpro1,1 sys def
only changes I've made to the config are the obvious ones and SecureBootModel to disabled.

Gets stuck on the apple logo with no progress whatsoever. Have to boot into a backup drive.
