Hello Pastrychef! long time no see, I was hoping this would be about updating my computer but unfortunately I got a surprise today. couldn’t boot up, and in verbose mode it ended after beginning coredump of kernel ( attach file ), and i have no idea what even went wrong.

Did you update your bootloader? Did you clear your NVRAM after updating the bootloader?

i’m dumb with my last comment, my clover has not been updated, and i’m not on open core. would prefer not to switch since i still know nothing about clover, but i haven’t been really caught up with everything going on. i saw your config.plist were all for what i assume to be open core?

If you want to update to Big Sur, you will need to update your bootloader.

i didn’t intend to update. that wasn’t the problem, i just intend to fix the problem and keep Catalina. What file would be the most recent Efi for clover on Catalina (i noticed near the bottom they aren’t labeled catalina or big sur)

Were you always on Catalina? If you are updating to Catalina from an older version of macOS, you will probably still need to update your EFI.

Just update to the latest EFI.

Hey Everyone, I'm debating upgrading my CPU from the i7-8700K to the i9-9900K, and I can't really make up my mind about it. I'm sort of waiting to see what the desktop/iMac M1 comps are going to be, and I don't want to spend too much money because I have a feeling they're going to be pretty good. Did anyone do this upgrade and think that it was worth it? Looks like I have to spend around $350 to get the chip.

FYI, I use my hack for work. I do a lot of graphic design, editing, 2D & 3D motion graphics. I would say that I'm a power user.

Thank you!
