Forgive me but I'm not clear on what to do. I had audio for a while under Lion, then it randomly disappeared. Cut to me updating to Mavericks and still I have no audio. I did find something that seemed pretty dense in regards to how to enable audio but, for the life of me, I'm unable to interpret exactly where to start and in what order.

If anyone might be able to coach me in what step by step I need to do, I'd be immensely grateful. I fell like I'm on the edge of getting everything working but this part has befuddled me.
