OSX Sierra stutters a bit when left idle for a while

This is weird I updated from 10.12.3 to 10.12.5. The OS stutters a bit when left idle for a while. It goes back to normal after a while, too. Has anyone experienced this? It never happened before. My display sleep, screensaver, etc. are now off. I first noticed this with lagging screensaver.

My system has 5820K, 970GTX, X99UD5. It was updated from 10.11.
