I am attempting to do this now, on an external usb drive I have plugged in (for now)

Using the tools from this site and pulling teeth to get Mojave from a Catalina Mac...ugh...I have managed to boot off a USB and install macOS on this machine. I have not yet attempted to get networking up and running, will look into over the weekend and update.

It 100% boots and installs Mojave, tho.
