    Hello tonyfolks !

i've just read that the next OSX update 10.8.3 should feature AMD Radeon 7XXX support, i don't know if this was posted before (i didn't find anything here). here's a link to an article about it : (in french sorry)

    http://www.macg.co/news/voir/257978/os-x-10.8.3-prend-en-charge-les-cartes-amd-radeon-hd-7xxx

    google translate :

The first beta of OS X 10.8.3 contains drivers for AMD Radeon HD 7xxx cards. Their support for OS X is the germ from 10.7.3. It was hoped that the next generation of machines uses ... you always hope.

Engraved in 29 nm and XDR2 Rambus memory using the Radeon HD 7xxx are relatively strong while controlling their consumption.

They are particularly suitable for GPGPU applications (using the graphics card as a co-processor for massively parallel processing), which should probably those awaiting updated Mac Pro.

Combined a few threads here- please keep in mind that the rules specifically prohibit installation discussion of the beta, as it's under NDA.

Great news! With the ATI 7XXX support I can install the ATI7760 into my little cube.
Then I have 2560x1400 with Displayport and do not need the DigitalBott box!

I'm a bit confused as to what new Macs will have 7xxx graphics? Is there a Thunderbolt addon graphics chamber in the works? Or is this finally the new Mac Pro? But why not Kepler for that?

I agree with tonymac, this makes no sense.

You would think that Apple would standardize on one GPU vendor for all products to make development and support easier. Or they could be doing this incase NVIDIA pisses them off and they decide to switch vendors down the road.

Maybe they're just trying to give the Hackintosh community more options.
