Hi all!

I'm 15 years old and I'm planning to make a Hackintosh that runs OS X El Capitan.

So, now I'm looking for a good laptop to use for a Hackintosh, please help me decide:

Lenovo ThinkPad T440P I5 (refurbished)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-4300M 2.6GHz
  • Memory: 8GB DDR3L RAM
  • Hard drive: 240GB Intel Solid State Drive
  • Optical drive: DVD+/-RW
  • Display: 14" HD+ (1600x900) With Anti-Glare
  • Graphics: Intel HD 4600 Graphics
  • Software: Windows 8.1 Professional 64-Bit
  • Ports: USB 3.0, VGA, Mini Display Port, RJ-45 Ethernet Port
  • Communications: Wireless LAN, Bluetooth
  • Audio: Integrated Audio
  • Warranty: 6 Month Carry-In Warranty

Lenovo ThinkPad X240 I5 (refurbished)

  • Processor: Intel Core i5-4300U 1.9GHz (3MB Cache, up to 2.9GHz)
  • Memory: 8GB DDR3L RAM
  • Hard drive: 500GB SATA Hard drive
  • Display: 12.5" HD IPS with Anti-Glare
  • Optical Drive: No Optical Drive
  • Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4400
  • Software: Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit
  • Ports: USB 3.0, Mini-Diplay port, VGA, Ethernet
  • Communications: Wireless with Bluetooth
  • Warranty: 6 Month Carry-In Warranty

Samsung Chromebook Pro (new)

So yeah, I'm basically looking for a laptop that has the perfect blend of quality and (OS X) stability.

Thanks for all your support.

Look for quality guides in the guides forums. Then decide.
The two computers you mention are essentially the same (both Haswell, with IGPU).

OK, done with the research.

It seems that the Samsung Chromebook Pro isn't going to be a good option because it has 32GB of memory, which is fine, but not for me. And the Wi-Fi card may very well be soldered to the motherboard.

Will post more later, I'm a bit busy right now...

I'm back!

So I've decided to stick with the Lenovo Thinkpad T440P, I might find another laptop I would like to use instead, but for now I'm saving up for this one.

By the way, when I've installed OS X El Capitan on the laptop, I'll post a link to a guide which I might write in the future.
