Great News  Also extremely happy to see that Apple is producing these
in the States with American workers. Time to celebrate this (long awaited) arrival :D

Had Intel Core i7-3930K and X79 UP5 for seems like a couple years now and it has been fantastic since day one! With a SATA SSD at 500 MBs and PCI-e OCZ Revo2 SSD @ 800MBs for a 2nd drive it smokes! Runs about 20k on geekbench with no OC. Think I spent 700 or so for cpu and mainboard back then but actual cost was 300 as I sold my old X58 rig to get this one. Cant thank Tony Mac and Mac Man enough!

It has to be incorporated, otherwise they would have to manage several builds of OSX; that number could theoretically grow every time a new Mac of any dsecription was released. It makes far more sense having a single build that incorporates support for all hardware they use, and then add new stuff to the next planned update. I *think* they have been doing this for a while now.

I'm interested to see what chipset is reported on the new Mac Pro, and what that brings to the table for both socket 2011 users and any potential future build considerations.

I just found this on the Apple Insider website. Wondering what you think about this ?
It says that the update is just for Mac Pros. Will the EFI be completely different from all
other Macs ?

These CPUs have been natively recognized by the OS X kernel since 10.7.3. However CPU power management may not work with certain setups and operating system versions. This means no speedstep, sleep, etc... 4 core Socket 2011 CPUs like the i7-3820 have sleep/wake functionality in 10.9+

I edited the top post to add that power management may not work. Apparently 4 core Socket 2011 CPUs like the i7-3820 have sleep/wake functionality in 10.9+

I found an interested thing at right now when I try to download the update app 10.9.1 from 10.9 via the link given by tonymacx86(thread is OS X 10.9.1 Update,http://www.tonymacx86.com/400-os-x-10-9-1-update/comments7.html#comments) I click the link Download the OS X 10.9.1 Update(http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1707),the page show me the update is for the late 2013 mac pro now.

the update date is show Post Date: Dec 19, 2013 File Size: 203.1 MB, It is different from the file posted on Dec 16,2013,file size is 243.4 MB(chinese language vision page). So far, only the english update page show the new change, but other language pages are still show the old app download link.

I don't know how much different between the two update app,but I will test each one, maybe I will try to rebuild the OS twice.if I found some can be report,I will post here.

at right now,I will try to install the new app, test it,maybe try another in 2 or 3 days.

Great find Solarduaun 2010 ! Give it a try on your CustoMac and report back what the
differences are with each of the different updates. This could be important for all those
with socket 2011 builds.
