Can i update from 10.8.2 to 10.8.4
rampage 4 extreme
i7 3930
Thanks

It wouldn't boot on Gb P67A-UD3-B3. Had to roll-back ACPIPlatform 10.8.1. Have no idea why it wouldn't boot otherwise.
It worked like a charm on 4530S via the AppStore update

If you downgraded IO80211Family.kext from 10.8.4 to an earlier patched one, it will break wifi (timeout when connecting to router) because it won't be compatible with the newer version of airportd in 10.8.4 (see this thread https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4154491?start=75&tstart=0).

The solution is to either downgrade airportd to an earlier version from 10.8.3 (see above link) or apply a manual edit of the new 10.8.4 version of IO80211Family.kext (inserting Device ID: 168c,30a4 as described in this thread http://legacy.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=59761).

Hope this helps
None of the above solved the same problem for me.

I notice you have a TP LINK TL-WN781ND whereas MacProClub has a TP-Link WN881ND so device IDs would be different.

Also after editing 'Info.plist' of AirPortAtheros40.kext inside IO80211Family.kext (from 10.8.4), did you reinstall the patched IO80211Family.kext into /System/Library/Extensions, repair permissions and rebuild system kext caches?

successfully updated to 10.8.4 but there's one issue with me . After 10.8.4 installation finish, I got an error message "installation failed". I thought I can't update to 10.8.4 because may be there's something wrong my system. However the next day when I check again, then I found out that it had been installed and updated with 10.8.4. So do take note that it might update to 10.8.4 even though it has error after installation.

hey so pardon my ignorance but, what exactly is the difference between the combo update and the non combo update? (not talking about using the app store; the stand alone update from apple.com)
