My Customac system was built in 2009, (by a friend), Using 10.6.7 now and I would like to update to 10.8.4.
Is it possible with this system?

It comprises:
Intel i7 Processor 920
GIGabyte GAEX58-UD3R Motherboard
EVGA Graphics card
Cooler master CM690 Chassis
6 Gigs ram
Running OS 10.6.7/dual boot windows 7

I have the same build as tonymac. I am trying to fresh install to 10.8.4

Core i3-2105 - Gigabyte GA-H67N-USB3-B3 - HD 3000 - CustoMac Mini 2011

I am using this DSDT i got from the dsdt database: DSDT-GA-H67N-USB3-B3-F7-HDMI.aml (which has worked previously for me in 10.7)

And a kernal panic:

Try booting with either of these flags and see if you can get it to boot. If it does then add the one that worked to your boot.plist file...

Code:
PCIRootUID=0

or

PCIRootUID=1

I have uppdated to 10.8.4 directly from AppStore – forgot to read about that combo update before doing it. Well, everything worked well except for the audio; it does not work at all.

I have read here that I can repair this by using correct settings in Multibeast. Well, I am a little bit afraid about that; last time I used Multibeast to change one parameter, the whole system collapsed. I had to erase my SSD Harddrive and start from scratch, it took hours and hours.

I am confused about this – how should I do exactly? Shall I use my old Multibeast 5.3.0 from end of April, or shall I download a new one? Exactly which parameters shall I change? Is there any other ways to make the audio work?

My system (Mac Pro):
Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UP5 TH - ATX / Intel Z77 / DDR3
3,5 GHz Intel Core i7
Corsair Vengeance Quad 32GB DDR3 PC3-12800
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 2048 MB
Samsung SSD 256 GB

Relax. :thumbup: Download the latest MultiBeast and just load the audio driver.

Here's what I do for every update:
  1. Repair Permissions using the Disk Utility on the drive to be updated;*
  2. Run the Combo Update - don't reboot yet;
  3. Run MultiBeast to reload only the audio driver;
  4. Repair Permissions again;* and
  5. Reboot

* You can use the Terminal instead of Disk Utility if you feel comfortable with a UNIX command:
Code:
sudo diskutil repairPermissions /
