Thankyou Adrian B!

You are now level HERO :headbang:

So just to be sure, if I do the combo update it should be as normal, just restart after the update and I don't have to do anything else?

thanks,

LR

Correct. At least with my UD5H Rev. 1.0....and most likely yours.

LR,

If you run the combo update then yes it should run as normal, as the text reads

"Be sure to back up any important data, and if possible clone your hard drive before applying the update. If you have any issues post-update, boot using UniBeast."

Open Disk Utility

1.) Repair Permissions, Install the Combo Updater, do not reboot.
2.) Open Multibeast 5.3.1, reinstall the Sound driver. (LR you can skip step 2 as you are using Firewire audio)
3.) Repair Permissions. Reboot.

As you have by the sounds of things a work computer - the cloning of your SSD onto a second SSD as a back up will give you real piece of mind, this machine should last a number of years so the price of a regularly cloned copy of your boot SSD is one that I recommend. Things don't often go wrong, but when they do it always seems to be just when you really don't need the hassle. Even real Macs can break. Data is precious - treat it that way.
