Today Apple released 10.10.1, the first major update to OS X Yosemite. Update any supported system using the built-in Software Update functionality through the Mac App Store, or by using the standalone installer available from Apple.com.

Be sure to back up any important data, and if possible clone your hard drive before applying the update. If you have any issues post-update, boot using UniBeast and type UseKernelCache=No.

What we know about 10.10.1 so far...

  • OS X Build 14B25
  • No kernel change- same 14.0.0 Darwin kernel
  • Updated Intel, NVIDIA, and AMD graphics drivers
  • This update will replace your audio drivers.
    • If using Chimera/MultiBeast you will have to reinstall AppleHDA using MultiBeast before or after reboot
    • If you use Clover or VoodooHDA, you may not need to make any modifications
  • Storage drivers updated - TRIM patch will need to be reapplied before or after reboot
  • X99 kernel and chipset support still absent - Haswell-E and X99 temporary guide remains necessary.
  • Install OS X Yosemite App Updated - If you downloaded Yosemite from the App Store prior to today, and you want to have the latest version on your backup installer USB, simply log into the Mac App Store and click Download. When the download finishes, the app will automatically open. The updated 10.10.1 Install OS X Yosemite App can be found in the Applications folder. You may then re-create your UniBeast installation USB.
Testing is now underway- this post will be updated. Good luck, and let us know how it goes! Report your results here.

Article: OS X 10.10.1 Update

Here's the step by step way to update:
:ch: Repair Permissions using the Disk Utility on the drive to be updated;*
:ch: Backup your current installation using Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper;
:ch: Use the Software Update to download and install 10.10.1 (no Combo until .2 update);
:ch: Re-boot;
:ch: Run MultiBeast for Yosemite v7.02+ and just select your audio driver to install;
:ch: Re-boot; and
:ch: Repair Permissions again.

If you have TRIM enabled, check to see if it is affected by this update. If the update reset the TRIM to No, then, when you reinstall the audio driver with MultiBeast for Yosemite, check the TRIM for 10.10, too.

If you encounter no audio after wake-up from sleep, here are several methods to "fix" the issue; see http://www.tonymacx86.com/audio/151504-no-audio-after-sleep-wake-realtek-alc-applehda-fixes.html. For posting audio problems, see http://www.tonymacx86.com/audio/143752-no-audio-devices-realtek-alc-applehda-guide.html#post886726. Thanks to toleda for this information.

* You can use the Terminal instead of Disk Utility if you feel comfortable with a UNIX command:
Code:
sudo diskutil repairPermissions /

On a clover 3021 version hybrid install (meaning used Multibeat 7.02 to install sound and trim drivers). Updated to 10.10.1 using standalone installer (software update was moving at a snails pace). Rebooted, and lost trim and sound. Reinstalled trim and sound from Multibeast 7.02. All is well!

Everything works perfect after the update (and after installing Trim and sound drivers again with multibeast) but now I have a message on the left corner at chimera boot screen saying "Errors encountered while starting the computer, pausing 5 seconds...". And after that the computer starts like nothing happens, then maybe it´s not a big problem but...who knows.

Done update from App store - just had to enable sound again and all is well - maybe just my imagination but it seems kind of snappy in booting up and shutting down.

A couple more things to add - Even though my install was a clean clover install, I did have to reinstall my audio drivers also as I am using Chameleon SSD Optimizer to enable Trim, I did turn it off before the update just in case.

No native support in 10.10.1. The alternate drivers haven't been updated yet.
