ioreg is attached.
I don't think this IOReg is from the dsdt posted earlier (revised HDEF). IOReg/HDEF/device-type/RealTek ALC885/9A is not in the dsdt; should not be in IOReg.

Oops Sorry.

Attached are the right ones.

Please note. When I edited the DSDT replacing the "device HDEF" block with the one from post one, I needed to remove these lines in order to compile OK:

===========

If (\_SB.PCI0.HDEF.PMES)
{
Store (One, \_SB.PCI0.HDEF.PMES)
Notify (\_SB.PCI0.HDEF, 0x02)
}

============

It is part of the "Method (_L0D, 0, NotSerialized)"

Cheers!

Re: New Optimized AppleHDA for Realtek ALC 889 on Lion - Updated

Thanks, toleda. I replaced all three files, and it started working. My mic is an A4Tech T-500 (headset with mic and headphones).

Edit: Rear microphone works with front unplugged. I don't have two microphones to test both at the same time.

sound starts crackling at about 17 seconds.

I have a GA-Z68XP-UD3.
What speakers are you using? It sounds fine on my system.

i use ELAC speakers with a Onkyo amplifier...but i don't think thats the problem..

With my notebook and now on the hackintosh with a motu 8-pre interface it sounds fine.

Although it would be nice to know whats the problem with the internal soundcard

thanks!

IOReg says 889 audio is working. I don't know what the problem is. Only suggestion, extract the pinconfigs with windows and try them in your AppleHDA.kext.

Thanks for the feedback. When you plug the front mic in, the font mic is enabled and the rear mic is disabled by design. The rear mic works when there is no front mic plugged in. If you want separate front and rear mics, that works, except LIne-In no longer works.

I don't have any idea. Try a reinstall.

Pasted the code from post 1. Tried the pin config from windows. Still no cigar.
Tried all other sound port with no success. Never mind. I am going to use VoodooHDA, which works OK, just a bit quiet.

Thanks for your time and effort :)

Re: New Optimized AppleHDA for Realtek ALC 889 on Lion - Updated

Hey everyone,

Having some frustrating issues with my Audio on Asus maximus IV extreme-z.
The audio works perfect through USB to my cinema display speakers.
But the Audio Jacks 3.5mm arent working at all.

I need them to work for my headphones.

I was given some advice to download this kext and followed the instructions, deleting the audio kexts from the S/L/E folder and then installing with kextbeast.
Went into multibeast, ran the system settings and reboot.
Still no audio from the jacks.

Any support/guidance much appreciated. Thanks

Re: New Optimized AppleHDA for Realtek ALC 889 on Lion - Updated

1 question - is 5.1 analog audio possible with GA-P67A-D3-B3?
It has only three rear audio ports - blue, green and pink.
In Windows i'ts simple - i've configured ports like this:
green - front spk, blue - rear spk, pink - center, sub, front mic - mic

I'm wondering if that kind of an assignment is doable in Lion, too?

Attach a copy of IOReg.
