how long does it take to get to the apple loading screen by usb?

For me, about a full minute. Logo comes up right away, progress bar about a minute later, IIRC.
[Edit: scratch that, 10 secs to beginning of progress bar, 2 minutes 40 seconds to the option selection screen.]

I don't know why you're having such difficulties, the last EFI I sent you, I removed the Graphics properties from Device Properties as I suspected that maybe the reason for the Black Screen.

You really should have progressed further by now as you've tried the Dortania Guide plus the ones I asked you to try and none according to you has worked out.

My guess is the black screen problem is down to either the connection port you're using from the system to your monitor, (if you're using HDMI use DPI instead as that is what is widely used and more efficient) or bad BIOS settings.

I think you need to revisit the complete setup as this board is if not the easiest, one of the easiest to run OS X.

PS. You shouldn't need to change anything within the EFI Folder I sent you apart from filling in your personal data which should have got you up and running.

I checked my Bios firmware to make sure I'm on 12f, it boots to OC, I cleared nvram. it runs thought the boot process but then restarts. using your (eddie)efi. thanks for taking the time to help me out, will keep trying.

@growl92, sorry, not clear to me whether you are installing onto your hard drive (or SSD) using a USB flash drive with OpenCore EFI in its EFI partition, or doing something else. Could you describe exactly where you are as far as the hardware is concerned? Did you make a flash drive using Apple's "createinstallmedia" and are using that, or what?

Yes I created a flash drive using createinstallmedia(Using Ventura 13.0.1 direct from Apple), have two partitions one with efi. I'm hoping to install osx on a m2 ssd internal on M2A slot(500 GB WD Black SN770, which hasn't been formatted yet). I have OC on that efi I'm trying to boot off using eddies efi at the moment. I'm also using Ubuntu 22.10 on another SATA ssd on same machine but that shouldn't matter. Using Gigabyte Z390 aorus pro wifi v1.0 (12f), intel 9700k, BCM4360 AC1200/BCM94360CS2/FenVi FB-HV1200 wifo/bt pci card, SAPPHIRE PULSE Radeon RX 580. Everything should work and supported as I've read. Thanks.

Installing macOS Ventura on any SSD requires that it first be formatted as APFS using Disk Utility. It won't install on an unformatted destination.

Yes I know, Once the initial boot to Ventura(usb/installer), you should have the option of accessing the disk utliity to format the HD. I've done so on two other machines (10.6, 10.11)using clover, but i have no experiance using the modern osx's(10.13+ did they change how it was done?

No, not at all. Disk Utility on your USB installer (Install MacOS Ventura) should properly format an unformatted target disk to whatever you choose, per its menu. First you would select View All Devices, then select the target disk, then select "Partition" and choose a Name, APFS format, then "Apply." When it finishes, the target should be available for installation. I don't think that is different from previous OS versions.

Installing two Operating Systems on one drive although can be achieved if you know exactly how the process is done can be problematic at the best of times.

It is much better and far easier to install each OS on separate Drives. The price of drives these days are very nominal and affordable, personally I would get a 250gb M.2 or an SSD Drive and try the install because the way you are attempting this install as an OC newbie, seems to be fraught with problems.

Thanks, however I'm not doing that. I was mentioning the createinstall media, that makes two partitions on the USB. also when Ventura gets installed that creates it's own partitions. One drive/one os, I just want to get past OC picker to the install screen Any idea on that? thanks.
