After a shaky upgrade to 10.15.4 the other day I finally took the plunge and switched to OpenCore (0.5.7).

Using the Sample.plist and the excellent guide (https://khronokernel-2.gitbook.io/opencore-vanilla-desktop-guide/) it worked first time! So a huge thanks to the OpenCore developers :) My current EFI is attached.

Couple of minor niggles:

1. Apple boot screen resolution is incorrect. I've tried various things (including SanitiseClearScreen to YES), but nothing has worked so far.

2. My BCM94360CS2 WiFi card (connected via M.2 adaptor) is no longer recognised (not present in System Information -> Wi-Fi). This was working ok with Clover. I suspect I need to add the device to DeviceProperties (as https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/x299-open-core-support.282158/post-1994927), but I'm not 100% sure.

Overall, OC seems the way forward

[Update] BCM94360CS2 was a hardware problem, not related to OC.

Thanks for the update :) Glad you got the iGPU frame buffer working.

I re-checked with Clover and the BCM94360CS2 card is no longer present there either. It's not even listed under PCIe devices in Hackintool.

I updated the z390 "bios" to version F8c a few weeks ago, so wonder if that is the problem. The card is attached via m2 on the rear socket. It originally worked, but I was on a much older bios version then. I use ethernet most of the time, so never even noticed.

I have the BCM94360CS2 working.
I also changed ACPI files from Z390 board.
now boot apple logo is showing right size. ( high 1080p resolution)

btw, do you have wake up issue with Bluetooth devices ?
I get sleep , but system won’t wake up By Bluetooth device ..

Yes, I had the sleep issue (https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/bluetooth-device-will-not-wake-hack.282822/).

Ended up switching to an ASUS bluetooth USB dongle because I could not wake via internal bluetooth card. I have no solution, but I did notice that the internal bluetooth adaptor seems to be disconnected/powered-off when the Mac sleeps. You can see multiple entries for it in IORegistryExplorer after a few sleep/wake cycles.

After investing my current BCM94360CS2 issues further, it appears the card is just not available. Both Hackintool and Ubuntu do not report it when listing PCIe devices. Must be a hardware issue.

Which version of the Z390 BIOS are you running? And which M.2 slot is the card plugged into? Mine is using the rear M2M connector. This originally worked fine.

Still not getting full-res during boot (with FileVault). Would you mind explaining your fix? Thanks :)

After swapping the SSD and BCM94360CS2 card slots, the latter was recognised again. Also when swapping back to the original slots (M2P for SSD, M2M for BCM94360CS2). So whatever strange hardware issue it was, seems fixed now.

The bluetooth wake-from-sleep issue is still present however. But the ASUS dongle solves that for me.

the new guides show how to fix resolution issues

As for Wifi and Bluetooth i say the Fenvi T919 works great and about same cost as other solutions
when I installed the card Windows I had to use Ethernet to get drivers but macOS already had them

How did you fix the boot up resolution?
